JIS Standard H Beam 200 150 100 300 400 | High Strength Structural H Beam Metal Section for Buildings
JIS standard H-beams are hot-rolled structural steel manufactured in compliance with Japanese Industrial Standards. Featuring a distinct H-shaped cross-section and parallel flange surfaces without taper, they are widely applied in international construction projects, steel fabrication and cross-border B2B trade
Steel Grade Comparison Table
| Category | Standard | Grade | Description |
| General structural construction steel | JIS G3101 | SS400 | The most widely used carbon steel with large procurement volume in global trade. Tensile strength: 400-510 MPa, yield strength over 245 MPa varying by thickness. It boasts superior workability and cost efficiency. |
| General structural construction steel | JIS G3101 | SS490 | Slightly higher strength than SS400, applicable to common carbon structures with higher load-bearing requirements. |
| High-strength steel for welded structure | JIS G3106 | SM400A/B/C | Applied to heavy steel structures and bridge projects demanding massive on-site welding and strict weldability. Letters A/B/C indicate different impact energy standards, and grade C features optimal low-temperature impact resistance. |
| SM490A/B/C | |||
| Seismic-resistant structural steel | JIS G3136 | SN400A/B/C | Specially developed for high-rise building seismic design. It has a strictly controlled yield ratio, delivering excellent plastic deformation and shock absorption performance. |
| SN490B/C |
| Metric Size | Standard Specification (JIS G3101 / SS400) | Imperial Equivalent (ASTM A36 / A572 Gr.50) | Core Applications |

Customized Dimension & Length
We provide a broad range of standard lengths like 6m and 12m for sale, and also can provide cutting service according to your specific project requirements, including H Beam 200 and H Beam 300. This enables less thrash on the heading and welding waste which ultimately increases the installation efficiency.
Complete Material Traceability
All our products are accompanied with 100% MTC in accordance with EN 10204 3.1. Pre-shipment support of third party inspections such as SGS, BV is available, so you can be assured of full visibility on material quality and specification compliance.
Seaworthy Anti-Corrosion Packing
Each bundle is coated with anti-rust and ends are bevel or taped for safe handling. The goods are tied, sealed and net wrapped, packaged tightly safe for break bulk and container delivery to ensure there hardly ever any damp, salt water, or sea distance transportation in such regions as America, Southeast Asia.
H-Beams have become the main material for modern steel structure because of its high efficiency and cost performance. What’s more, H-Beams are extensively adopted in the following fields:
Building Construction: It is used for the main frame of industrial workshops, high-rise buildings and large-span public buildings like airports, stadiums, and exhibition centers.
Bridge Engineering: Railway and Highway Bridges: in the main girders and piers of railway and highway bridges, particularly suitable for large-span steel bridge structures.
Machinery Manufacture: For heavy duty machine frames, crane beams, ship keels and other components of machinery.
Energy & Chemical: Applied extensively in steel platforms, support towers, pipe racks, foundation supports and in many other types of industrial facilities.
Q1: What steel grades are available for JIS H-beams?
A: We can provide various JIS grades, which can meet the different requirements of customers from the construction field:
General construction: SS400, SS490, SS540 (JIS G3101) Welding structures: SM400 / SM490 (JIS G3106) for better weldability and strength Seismic use: SN400 / SN490 (JIS G3136) for high-rise and seismically resistant building projects in such areas as Southeast Asia
Q2: How about your JIS H-beam with the ASTM or EN Standards?
A: Yes. We facilitate cross standard substitution, with documentation to prove:
SS400 ≈ ASTM A36 / EN S235JR
SM490 ≈ ASTM A572 Gr.50 / EN S355JR
Complete MTR (Mill Test Report) to be submitted to obtain the engineering approval and for project compliance.
Q3: Do you have sizes? Do you provide custom cutting services?
A:We are trading company that standard JIS H beam sizes range from 100 × 50 mm to 400 × 400 mm and 900 × 300 mm as a heavy section... 6m, 12m is the standard length, and the customized cutting could be available can according to your project drawings which can on-site work welding and installation cost.
Q4: How do you control quality?
A: All consignments include the EN 10204 3.1 Mill Test Certificate (MTC) for chemical and mechanical properties. Pre-shipment third party inspection(SGS, BV, TUV) are welcomed and well supported, including dimension check and NDT testing in case of need.
