Packaging Features
Coil Protection: The inner core utilizes a steel or paper tube; edges are fitted with corner guards or angle iron; the surface is covered with moisture-proof paper or PE film, and anti-rust oil may be applied as required.
Securing Method: Secured using high-strength steel strapping; wooden pallets are available as an option.
Group Bundling (Optional): Thin coils may be bundled in groups; individual coils within the group are separated by paper to prevent scratching, and the entire assembly is wrapped in plastic film.
Transportation Methods
Sea Freight: Transported in 20-foot or 40-foot containers, securely anchored using wooden wedges.
Rail Transport: Transported on flatcars or rail freight wagons, secured using chains or support brackets.
Handling and Storage
Handling: Please use coil hooks, lifting equipment, or C-hooks for handling; dragging of coils is strictly prohibited.
Storage: Store in an upright position to prevent deformation and rusting; store in a dry, well-ventilated environment, and avoid stacking to excessive heights.
Stable cooperation with shipping companies such as MSK, MSC, COSCO efficiently logistics service chain, logistics service chain are we to your satisfaction.
We follow the standards of quality management system ISO9001 in all procedure, and have strict control from packaging material purchase to transport vehicle scheduling.
1. What is it and why use it?
Grain-oriented silicon steel is a low-carbon, high-silicon electrical steel with grains aligned along the rolling direction. This ensures high magnetic permeability and low core loss, making it ideal for transformers and energy-efficient electrical devices.
2. Typical applications:
Used in power and instrument transformers, large motors, generators, reactors, and renewable energy equipment where high magnetic efficiency is required.
3. Key properties:
Thickness: 0.18–0.35 mm (customizable)
Core loss: ~0.8–1.2 W/kg @ 50 Hz, 1.7 T
Magnetic induction (B8): ≥1.80–1.88 T
Relative permeability: 1,000–1,800+
Lamination factor: ≥0.96
4. Differences from non-oriented silicon steel:
Grain-oriented steel is directional, optimized for the rolling direction (best for transformer cores), while non-oriented steel is isotropic, suitable for rotating machines like motors.
5. Handling and storage tips:
Avoid bending or stacking that damages grain orientation.
Store in dry, non-corrosive environments.
Insulating coatings (e.g., C-5) reduce eddy current loss and protect laminations.
