1. Raw Material Selection
High-quality structural steel billets or slabs are carefully selected in accordance with specified mechanical and chemical requirements to ensure strength, durability, and performance consistency.
2. Heating
The steel billets/slabs are heated in a reheating furnace to approximately 1,100–1,200°C, achieving optimal plasticity for subsequent rolling operations.
3. Hot Rolling
Through precision rolling mills, the heated steel is continuously hot-rolled and formed into the required Z-profile geometry, ensuring accurate section dimensions and interlock integrity.
4. Controlled Cooling
After rolling, the steel profiles undergo controlled air cooling or water spray cooling to achieve the desired microstructure and mechanical properties.
5. Straightening and Cutting
The cooled sheet piles are straightened to eliminate residual stress and deformation, then cut to standard or customized lengths with strict dimensional tolerances.
6. Quality Inspection
Comprehensive inspections are conducted, including:
Dimensional accuracy checks
Mechanical property testing
Visual surface inspection
to ensure full compliance with applicable standards and project requirements.
7. Surface Treatment (Optional)
If required, surface treatments such as painting, galvanizing, or anti-corrosion coating are applied to enhance corrosion resistance and extend service life.
8. Packaging and Shipping
Finished products are securely bundled, protected, and labeled to prevent damage during handling and transportation, then prepared for domestic or international shipment.
Port and Dock Protection: Z-shaped sheet piles are used to withstand water pressure and ship impacts in ports, docks, and marine structures.
River and Flood Control: Used for riverbank protection, auxiliary dredging, dikes, and flood walls.
Foundation and Excavation Engineering: Used as retaining walls and support structures for basements, tunnels, and foundation pits.
Industrial and Hydraulic Engineering: Applied in hydropower stations, pumping stations, pipelines, culverts, bridge piers, and sealing projects.
1) Branch Office - Spanish-speaking support, customs clearance assistance, etc.
2) Over 5,000 tons of stock in stock, with a wide variety of sizes
3) Inspected by authoritative organizations such as CCIC, SGS, BV, and TUV, with standard seaworthy packaging
Steel Sheet Pile Packaging & Handling/Transport Specifications
Packaging Requirements
Strapping
Steel sheet piles are bundled together, with each bundle firmly fastened using metal or plastic strapping to ensure structural integrity during handling.
End Protection
To avoid damage to bundle ends, they are either wrapped in heavy-duty plastic sheeting or capped with wooden guards—effectively shielding against impacts, scratches, or deformation.
Rust Protection
All bundles undergo anti-rust treatment: options include coating with anti-corrosive oil or full encapsulation in waterproof plastic film, which prevents oxidation and preserves material quality during storage and transit.
Handling & Transportation Protocols
Loading
Bundles are safely hoisted onto trucks or shipping containers using industrial cranes or forklifts, with strict adherence to load-bearing limits and balance guidelines to avoid tipping or damage.
Transit Stability
Bundles are stacked in a stable configuration and further secured (e.g., with additional strapping or blocking) to eliminate shifting, collision, or displacement during transportation—critical for preventing both product damage and safety hazards.
Unloading
Upon arrival at the construction site, bundles are carefully unloaded and positioned for immediate deployment, streamlining workflow and minimizing on-site handling delays.
Stable cooperation with shipping companies such as MSK, MSC, COSCO efficiently logistics service chain, logistics service chain are we to your satisfaction.
We follow the standards of quality management system ISO9001 in all procedure, and have strict control from packaging material purchase to transport vehicle scheduling. This guarantees the H-beams from the factory all the way to the project site, helping you build on a solid foundation for a trouble free project!
1.What are the typical applications of these steel sheet piles?
Both ASTM A588 and JIS A5528 sheet piles are widely used in:
Flood protection and riverbank reinforcement
Marine and port construction
Retaining walls and foundation support
Underground construction, such as basements or tunnels
2.Can ASTM A588 and JIS A5528 be welded?
Yes. Both steels have excellent weldability, but special care is needed:
Use low-hydrogen electrodes
Preheat in very cold climates to avoid cracking
Avoid over-welding to preserve corrosion resistance
3.How are the corrosion properties different from regular steel?
Both standards belong to weathering steels, meaning:
They develop a stable rust layer that protects the core
Resist atmospheric, underground, and marine corrosion
Typically eliminate the need for additional coatings in normal conditions
4.How are the sheet piles connected?
Both ASTM A588 and JIS A5528 sheet piles use interlocking profiles:
Z-shaped, U-shaped, or straight web designs
Interlocks provide structural integrity and limit water penetration
Can be installed by driving, vibrating, or pressing depending on soil conditions
