Preparing of the Raw Materials
Choice of good grade carbon steel billets. Selection of good grade carbon steel billets.
Chemistry checked to conform to grade T95 requirements.
Heating
Billets are heated in the furnace to the desired forging temperature (usually 1150°C to 1250°C).
Piercing & Rolling
The hot billets are pierced to produce a hollow shell.
The shells are then rolled on a seamless tube mill to the required OD and Wall thickness.
Adjusting Size & Stretch Reduction
Tubes are run through stretch-reducing mills to close tolerances of OD and wall thickness.
Heat Treatment
Quenching and tempering for the required mechanical properties (tensile strength, yield strength, hardness and toughness).
Straightening & Cutting
Tubes are straightened and cut to standard length (6–12m) or to the length specified by the customer. If necessary, premium connections (NC, LTC or custom threads) can be machined.
Non-destructive Testing (NDT)
The UT and MPI methods are used to prove integrity and clean tubing from defects.
Packaging & Shipping
The tubes are bundled, protected by an anti-rust coating and packed for delivery (applicable for container or bulk shipment).
API 5CT N80 oil casing steel pipe is a high-strength oilfield material designed for medium to deep wells. With yield strength of 552–758 MPa, it provides excellent resistance to internal pressure, collapse, and mechanical stress, ensuring stable performance in complex drilling environments. N80 (especially N80Q) also offers improved toughness and resistance to sulfide stress cracking, making it suitable for sour gas and high-pressure oil & gas wells. Produced under API 5CT PSL1/PSL2 standards, it ensures reliable dimensional accuracy and consistent mechanical properties.
Royal Steel Group provides a full range of API 5CT casing and tubing, including J55, K55, N80, L80, and P110 grades, with seamless and ERW options. We support BTC, LTC, and STC threaded connections to meet different project requirements. All pipes undergo strict quality inspection, including chemical analysis, mechanical testing, hydrostatic testing, and NDT, with full MTC traceability.
With strong production capacity, stable inventory, and fast global delivery capability, Royal Steel Group supports oil and gas projects across the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Africa, and Latin America. We also provide customized services such as threading, cutting, end protection, and anti-corrosion coating.
API 5CT N80 casing pipe combined with Royal Steel Group’s reliable supply chain and strict quality control delivers a safe, efficient, and cost-effective solution for global oilfield applications.
We package all api 5ct seamless pipes strictly according to international export standards to ensure the products remain intact during transportation and storage, providing effective corrosion protection.
Each steel pipe is securely bundled with steel straps. Plastic end caps are installed at both ends of the pipes to protect the inner walls from scratches, dust, and impact damage. Simultaneously, the surface of the steel pipes is coated with anti-rust oil or protective paint, significantly reducing the risk of oxidation and corrosion during long-term sea transport and warehousing.
For overseas transportation, we employ professional bundling and steel frame packaging solutions suitable for ocean shipping, applicable to both container ships and bulk carriers. Each package clearly displays complete product information, including product specifications, steel grade, and furnace number, ensuring full traceability for each batch.
We offer flexible logistics arrangements and reliable transportation coordination. With mature global transportation experience, we ensure stable, safe, and timely delivery services to customers worldwide, covering the Americas market and other international regions.
1. What is Api 5ct?
API 5CT is the core industry standard for oil and gas well casing and tubing. It regulates the chemical makeup, mechanical performance and dimensional tolerances of steel pipes specially manufactured for downhole petroleum applications.
2. What are the common API 5CT grades?
The most widely used grades include J55, K55, N80, L80, C90 and P110, featuring different strength levels for varying well conditions. J55 and K55 are low-strength grades for shallow well service. N80 and L80 offer medium strength for deeper wells, with L80 available in corrosion-resistant versions. C90 and P110 deliver ultra-high strength for extreme deep and high-pressure well environments.
3. Typical applications for each grade
J55/K55 suit shallow and low-pressure well projects. N80/L80 work for medium-depth and high-pressure wells, while L80 performs well in CO₂ and H₂S corrosive conditions. C90 and P110 are reserved for ultra-deep, high-pressure and severe-service oil and gas wells.
4. Are api 5ct casing pipe seamless or welded?
Most standard API 5CT casing and tubing adopts seamless construction to ensure superior high-pressure resistance and downhole safety. Custom welded alternatives can also be provided for special project requirements.
5. Are API 5CT Casing Pipes suitable for corrosive environments?
Yes. We supply corrosion-resistant options for harsh working conditions. Grades including L80, C90 and P110 can be produced as CRS corrosion-inhibited carbon steel, adapting to H₂S, CO₂ and high-chloride corrosive environments.
6. What tests are conducted on api 5ct seamless pipes?
All pipes undergo full standard testing to comply with API 5CT specifications. This includes mechanical tests for tensile strength, yield strength and elongation, chemical composition analysis, and non-destructive inspections such as ultrasonic testing (UT) and magnetic particle inspection (MPI).
