Raw Material Preparation
Select high-quality carbon steel billets.
Confirm chemical composition as T95 grade.
Heating
The billets are heated in a furnace to a suitable forging temperature (typically 1150-1250℃).
Hot Billet Piercing and Rolling
The hot billets are pierced to form hollow tubes.
The hollow tubes are then rolled on a seamless tube mill to the required dimensions (outer diameter) and wall thickness.
Sizing and Expansion Diametering
The tubes are fed into an expansion diametering mill to achieve tight dimensional tolerances (outer diameter and wall thickness).
Heat Treatment
Quenching and tempering are performed to obtain the required mechanical properties (tensile strength, yield strength, hardness, and toughness).
Straightening and Cutting
The tubes are typically straightened and cut to standard lengths (6-12 meters) or customer-specified lengths. High-quality connectors (NC, LTC, or custom threads) can be machined if required.
Non-destructive Testing (NDT)
Ultrasonic testing (UT) and magnetic particle testing (MPL) are methods used to ensure the structural integrity and defect-free nature of the pipes.
Packaging and Transportation
After being bundled, the pipes are coated with an anti-corrosion coating and packaged for transportation (suitable for container or bulk transport).

1. Applications of API 5CT N80 oil casing pipe
N80 casing is widely applied in oil and gas well operations. It serves wellbore reinforcement and fluid transmission, ideal for medium-depth wells that withstand higher pressure and load conditions.
2. N80 vs J55 / P110 Steel Grades
N80 features higher yield strength (552–758 MPa) than regular J55 and K55 grades, making it fit for deeper well drilling. Compared with high-strength P110, N80 delivers better overall toughness, offering a more cost-effective solution for medium-depth well projects.
3. N80-1 and N80Q Differences
N80-1 is normalized steel for conventional oil and gas well usage with stable general performance. N80Q adopts quenched and tempered heat treatment, providing improved toughness and collapse resistance. It is preferred for complex and harsh downhole conditions.
4. Sour Service Compatibility (H₂S Environment)
Standard N80 casing is not suitable for sour service with hydrogen sulfide. For H₂S-containing corrosive environments, we recommend NACE MR0175 qualified grades such as L80 to ensure safe and stable operation.
