1. Raw Material Preparation
Qualified pig iron, scrap steel and corresponding alloying elements are selected in strict accordance with production and performance requirements.
3. Continuous Casting
Molten steel is cast into slabs or blooms through the continuous casting process, providing qualified blanks for subsequent rolling operations.
5. Heat Treatment (Optional)
Normalizing or annealing can be applied as required to further improve material toughness and ensure uniform performance across the steel plate.
7. Cutting & Packaging
Finished steel plates are sheared or sawn to specified dimensions, followed by anti-rust treatment, packaging and preparation for delivery.
2. Melting & Refining
Melting is carried out in an Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) or Basic Oxygen Furnace (BOF). Processes including desulfurization, deoxidation and precise adjustment of chemical composition are completed to ensure the molten steel meets required standards.
4. Hot Rolling
The qualified blanks go through a complete hot rolling procedure: heating, rough rolling, finish rolling and controlled cooling, to form steel plates of specified thickness and specifications.
6. Inspection & Testing
Comprehensive inspections are performed, covering chemical composition analysis, mechanical property testing and surface quality assessment, to verify compliance with product requirements.
Pressure Vessels
Suitable for high-pressure mechanical equipment such as boilers, storage tanks and pressure vessels, widely used in petroleum, chemical, electric power and liquefied gas industries.

Q: Why choose ASTM A516 Gr.70 Structural Carbon Steel Plate for my pressure vessel or petrochemical project?
A: Purpose-built for pressure service, this grade delivers consistent tensile strength (485–620 MPa), reliable toughness, and excellent weldability. Unlike general carbon steel, it meets strict ASTM quality controls, making it ideal for boilers, storage tanks, reactors, and power plant equipment where safety is non-negotiable.
Q: What quality documentation and inspection support do you provide?
A: Every order ships with a full Material Test Certificate (MTC) verifying chemical composition, mechanical properties, heat number, and ASTM compliance. We fully support pre-shipment third-party inspections (SGS, BV, TUV, etc.) as requested.
Q: Can you supply custom-cut plates, and what standards do your tolerances meet?
A: Yes, we offer shearing, sawing, and plasma cutting to your exact dimensions (thickness range: 6mm–150mm). All plates adhere to ASTM A6/EN 10029 standards for size, flatness, and edge quality.
Q: Is A516 Gr.70 easy to weld, and do I need special procedures?
A: It has excellent weldability for pressure vessel fabrication, compatible with standard processes (SMAW, SAW, GMAW). Preheating is recommended for plates over 50mm to prevent cold cracking, and we can share basic welding guidance upon request.
Q: How do you package for export, and what’s your typical lead time?
A: Plates receive anti-rust treatment, are wrapped in waterproof material, and secured on fumigated wooden pallets/crates for safe transit. Standard lead time is 2–3 weeks, and we welcome both small trial orders and large bulk projects.
