High Strength H-shaped Steel for Road Construction SS330 SS400 Q215A Steel H-beams
Hot Rolled H Beam cross-section consists of a web (the vertical center section) and flanges (the horizontal sections on either side). The flanges have parallel inner and outer surfaces, and the transition to the web is arc-shaped. This design offers the following advantages:
Strong flexural strength: The high section modulus significantly increases the load-bearing capacity of traditional I-beams and channels at the same weight.
High structural stability: The uniform flange width provides excellent lateral stiffness, making it suitable for supporting bidirectional loads.
High material efficiency: The stress concentration problem associated with traditional steel sections is reduced, saving 10% to 30% of steel.

Features
H Beam Steel is a cost‑effective structural profile named for its H‑shaped cross‑section. It is also widely referred to as a universal beam or wide‑flange beam. An H‑beam consists of two main components: the web (central vertical section) and the flanges (horizontal top‑and‑bottom edges).
Compared with standard I‑beams of identical web height, H‑beams feature thinner webs and much wider flanges — which explains its common name, the wide‑flange I‑beam.
Application
H-beams, due to their high efficiency and cost-effectiveness, have become a core material for modern steel structures and are widely used in:
Building Construction
Ideal for industrial‑plant frameworks, high‑rise building structures, and long‑span venues including airport terminals and sports stadiums.
Bridge‑Building Projects
Used as primary girders and support piers for highway and railway bridges, well‑suited for large‑span steel‑bridge construction.
Machinery Fabrication
Applied for heavy‑duty equipment frames, crane runway beams, ship keels and other mechanical components.
Energy & Chemical Sector
Commonly deployed for industrial steel work‑platforms, support towers, dock piers and related facility structures.
1. Are 20# and SAE 1006 interchangeable steel grades?
They are not equivalent materials, as each falls under a separate specification system. 20# complies with GB/T 699, while SAE 1006 follows SAE/AISI standards. Your final selection should match your target chemical‑composition limits and end‑use conditions.
2. What size ranges and custom options do you offer?
Our hot‑rolled steel plates can be produced to your required thickness, width and length. Additional fabrication services include cut‑to‑size processing, drilling, bending and more.
3. Which quality documents and inspection certificates can you supply?
Each shipment comes with a Mill Test Certificate listing full chemical and mechanical test results. Third‑party audits by SGS, BV or other recognized agencies may also be arranged on your behalf.
4. What packaging and shipping choices are available for steel‑plate orders?
For export, plates are wrapped with waterproof shielding and firmly secured by steel straps. Both containerized and break‑bulk shipping are supported, and we adjust packaging details to suit plate dimensions, weight and destination.
5. Do you accept custom‑specification and OEM‑fabrication orders?
Absolutely. We can tailor steel grades, finished sizes, cutting work, surface finishes, drilling, bending and other fabrication jobs strictly from your drawings or project specifications.
