    Stainless Steel Pipe Surface Finish

We provide stainless steel pipes and tubes with a full range of customized surface finishes, tailored to meet different industrial demands for corrosion resistance, surface cleanliness, welding performance, overall usability and aesthetic requirements.

    Common Stainless Steel Pipe Finishes

2B Finish: A smooth, uniform surface achieved through cold rolling. It is the most versatile finish, ideal for general piping systems, chemical equipment, food processing and various conventional industrial scenarios.

BA Finish (Bright Annealed): Features a smooth, high-reflection bright surface. This premium finish balances excellent surface quality and neat appearance, perfect for scenarios requiring both performance and visual effect.

No. 1 Finish: Formed by hot rolling, annealing and pickling processes. With stable industrial performance, it is mainly applied to heavy-duty industrial projects where surface aesthetics are not a priority.

No. 4 Finish: A uniform brushed satin texture with consistent directional lines. It is widely adopted for architectural structures and decorative engineering applications.

8K Mirror Finish: Ultra-fine polished mirror surface with high reflectivity. It is commonly used for high-end decoration, architectural styling and premium industrial equipment fabrication.

Pickled & Passivated Finish: Effectively removes surface oxide layers and enhances overall corrosion resistance. This treatment is especially suitable for pipes after heat treatment or welding processing to restore and optimize material performance.
Custom Polished Finish: We offer customized mechanical polishing services. According to client’s specific standards, we process pipes into smoother, brighter surface states to fit personalized project needs.

For  and  s, we recommend selecting a matched surface finish based on actual working temperature, corrosive environment, on-site fabrication procedures and final application scenarios, to maximize service performance and service life.

    Packing and Transportation

    Plastic sheet wrapping

Plastic sheet wrapping is widely applied for stainless‑steel pipe transit. It shields pipe surfaces against scratches, abrasions and dirt, while delivering moisture‑proof, dust‑proof and anti‑corrosion protection.

    Tape wrapping

Cost‑effective and straightforward, clear or white tape wrapping safeguards pipe surfaces. It also reinforces bundled pipes and lowers risks of shifting or distortion during shipment.

    Wooden pallet packing

Wooden pallets work well for larger stainless‑steel pipes for transport and storage. Pipes are secured onto pallets with steel straps, preventing impacts, bending and deformation in transit.

    Carton packing

Cartons are the go‑to choice for small‑dimension stainless‑steel pipes. Lightweight and easy to handle, cartons protect pipe surfaces and simplify stock management.

    Containerized shipment

Container loading is standard practice for large‑volume export orders. It secures pipes for ocean freight and minimizes risks of shifting and collision across overseas delivery.

    FAQ

What are 316 and 347 heat‑resistant stainless steel tubes?
316 and 347 belong to the austenitic stainless steel family. They are favoured for projects demanding high‑temperature tolerance, corrosion resistance and stable mechanical performance. Typical end‑uses cover heat exchangers, chemical processing plants, power facilities and industrial heating equipment.

Which standards apply to 316 / 347 stainless steel tubes?
We follow ASTM / ASME tubing and pipe specifications matched to your product type and operating conditions. The exact standard will be locked in based on your technical requirements.

What is the main difference between 316 and 347 stainless steel?
Alloyed with molybdenum, grade 316 delivers better resistance against chloride and various corrosive media. Grade 347 uses niobium as a stabilizing element, making it ideal for working conditions with high heat and frequent thermal cycling.

    Are 316 / 347 tubes fit for high‑temperature service?
Both grades perform well under elevated‑temperature conditions. 347 stands out especially for services where you need to avoid sensitization and intergranular corrosion after long‑term heat exposure.

What surface finishes do you offer?
Available finishes: No.1, 2B, BA, No.4, custom polished, pickled & passivated.
We will recommend suitable finishes based on your working environment and project needs.

Do you support custom‑made stainless steel tubes?
Yes. We can adjust outer diameter, wall thickness, length, surface finish and export packaging, as long as specs fall within our production and standard scope.

Where are 316 / 347 stainless steel tubes mostly applied?
    Common application scenarios:
    ‑ Heat exchangers
    ‑ Boiler & power‑generation units
    ‑ Furnace and heat‑treatment equipment
    ‑ Petrochemical facilities
    ‑ Chemical process piping
    ‑ Oil & gas hardware
    ‑ High‑temperature process pipelines
    ‑ Industrial thermal systems

Can you supply mill test documents?
Sure. Mill Test Certificates (MTC) will be issued to confirm material grade, chemical makeup and mechanical properties as per your agreed specifications.

    Is third‑party inspection acceptable?
We support SGS and other independent third‑party inspections upon buyer’s request. Please clarify inspection items before production or shipment.

How do you manage product quality?
Our quality checks cover chemical analysis, mechanical tests, dimensional verification and surface examination. All testing follows referenced standards and your project requirements.

Are 316 and 347 stainless steel tubes weldable?
Both grades have good fabrication properties and can be welded. Please select proper welding procedures according to material grade, tube wall thickness, working temperature and field conditions.

What export packaging options are available?
Tubes are tightly bundled with surface protection to prevent scratches during ocean transit. Custom packaging solutions are available depending on tube size, order volume and target destination.

What information do I need to receive a formal quote?
Kindly share material grade, ASTM/ASME standard, outer diameter, wall thickness, length, total quantity, surface finish and destination port. We will work out a tailored quotation for your project.
