1. What is 20# / SAE 1006 steel plate?
20# and SAE 1006 are low-carbon steel grades produced under different standards. 20# follows the Chinese GB/T 699 standard, while SAE 1006 follows the SAE/AISI grade system.
2. Are 20# and SAE 1006 equivalent grades?
No. They have different chemical compositions and standard requirements. They can be offered as separate material options according to the customer's application and specification.
3. Is this steel plate hot rolled?
Yes. The product is manufactured through the hot rolling process and is available as hot rolled steel sheet or plate.
4. What sizes are available?
Common sizes can be supplied in thicknesses of approximately 1.5–300 mm, widths of 1000–3000 mm, and lengths up to 12,000 mm. Custom dimensions are available.
5. What surface finishes are available?
Standard hot rolled mill finish is available. Pickled and oiled, shot-blasted, painted and other surface treatments can also be supplied according to project requirements.
