Summary:
API 5CT T95 seamless steel tubing is primarily used in demanding oil and gas well operations where high strength, toughness, and reliability are critical.
| Application Area | Description |
| Oil & Gas Well Casing | Used as high-strength casing for deep and ultra-deep wells to support wellbore integrity under high pressure and temperature. |
| Oil & Gas Tubing | Serves as production tubing for oil and gas extraction, ensuring safe and efficient fluid transport. |
| Drilling Operations | Supports drilling in harsh environments, including high-pressure, high-temperature (HPHT) wells. |
| Deepwater & Offshore Wells | Ideal for deepwater and offshore applications due to high tensile strength and corrosion resistance. |
| High-Pressure & High-Temperature Wells | Suitable for extreme conditions where standard tubing cannot withstand mechanical stress and temperature. |
RAW MATERIAL PREPARATION
Selection of high-quality carbon steel billets.
Verification of chemical composition to meet T95 grade requirements.
HEATING
Billets are heated in a furnace to the proper forging temperature (typically 1150–1250°C).
PIERCING & ROLLING
Hot billets are pierced to form a hollow shell.
Shells are then rolled using a seamless tube mill to achieve the desired outer diameter (OD) and wall thickness.
SIZING &STRETCH REDUCING
Tubes are passed through stretch-reducing mills to meet precise OD and wall thickness tolerances.
HEAT TREATMENT
Quenching and tempering to achieve required mechanical properties (tensile strength, yield strength, hardness, and toughness).
STRAIGHTENING & CUTTING
Tubes are straightened and cut to standard lengths (6–12m) or customer-specified lengths. Premium connections (NC, LTC, or custom threads) are machined if required.
NON-DESTRUCTIVE TESTING (NDT)
Methods such as ultrasonic testing (UT) and magnetic particle inspection (MPI) ensure structural integrity and defect-free tubing.
PACKAGING & SHIPPING
Tubes are bundled, protected with anti-corrosion coating, and packed for transport (suitable for container or bulk shipment).
Ample Inventory: We maintain a large inventory and a robust production system, enabling us to respond quickly to your orders and ensure the smooth progress of your projects.
Safe Packaging: Each steel pipe is individually sealed with multiple layers of bubble wrap and then an outer plastic bag to ensure it is not deformed or damaged during transportation, thus guaranteeing product safety.
Fast and Efficient Delivery: With strong logistics support, we can reliably and timely deliver products to international markets according to your project schedule.
Robust Export Packaging
Our api 5ct seamless pipes are securely packed in IPPC-certified fumigated wooden pallets that comply with Malaysia's import and quarantine regulations. Each bundle is wrapped with three-layer waterproof protection to withstand Malaysia’s humid tropical climate. In addition, plastic or steel end caps are applied to prevent dust, moisture, and debris from entering the pipes during transportation. Each bundle typically weighs 2–3 tons, making it convenient for unloading using forklifts or cranes commonly used at Malaysian construction sites and ports.
Flexible Length Options
The standard api 5ct steel pipe length is 12 meters, optimized for container transportation. To meet local transportation conditions and project requirements in Malaysia, we also provide custom lengths such as 10 meters or 8 meters, which are easier to transport by truck to oilfields, construction sites, and infrastructure projects.
Complete Documentation & Export Support
We provide a full set of export documents to ensure smooth customs clearance in Malaysia, including:
Certificate of Origin (Form E or standard CO)
Mill Test Certificate (MTC)
SGS / Third-Party Inspection Report
Packing List
Commercial Invoice
If any documentation requires adjustment, our team will revise and resend it within 24 hours to avoid customs clearance delays.
Reliable Shipping & Logistics
After production, the goods are transported via trusted international shipping partners by sea freight. Typical transit times include:
China → Port Klang, Malaysia: ~10–12 days
China → Penang Port: ~10–13 days
China → Johor Port (Pasir Gudang): ~9–12 days
We also support port-to-project delivery, working with local Malaysian logistics partners to ensure efficient transportation from port to oil & gas fields, infrastructure projects, or construction sites.
1. What is API 5CT?
API 5CT is the industry standard for oil well casing and tubing, specifying the chemical composition, mechanical properties, and dimensions of steel pipes used in oil and gas wells.
2. What are the popular grades of API 5CT casing and tubing?
The standard grades are J55, K55, N80, L80, C90, and P110, all differ from each other in terms of strength and field of applications are as follow:
J55 / K55: Low strength, for shallow wells.
N80 / L80: Medium strength for deep wells, corrosion resistant solutions available for L80.
C90 / P110: Very high strength, high pressure and deep wells.
3. What are the typical uses for each grade?
J55 / K55: Low pressure, shallow wells applications.
N80 / L80: Medium to deep wells, higher pressures; L80 for CO₂/H₂S environmes.
C90 / P110: Deep, high-pressure wells, and severe service.
4. Are these tubes seamless or welded?
API 5CT tubing and casing is mostly seamless (SMLS), to provide high- pressure resistant, but there are a number of customized welded products.
5. Can I use API 5CT tubes in Corrosion environment?
Yes. L80, C90 and P110 grades can be delivered as CI (corrosion inverse carbon steel (CRS)) for H₂S, CO₂ or high-chloride environments.
6. How are API 5CT pipes tested?
To meet the requirements of API 5CT, they run several mechanical (tensile, yield, elongation), chemical and NDE (Non-Destructive Examination) such as UT or MPI testing.
