Surface Coating & Anti-Corrosion Services - 3PE Coating

3PE coating, or Three-Layer Polyethylene Coating, is a high-performance anti-corrosion system widely used for steel pipelines in oil & gas, water, and industrial projects. The coating consists of three layers:

Fusion Bonded Epoxy (FBE) Primer: Provides strong adhesion to the steel surface and excellent corrosion resistance.

Adhesive Copolymer Layer: Acts as a bonding bridge between the primer and the outer polyethylene layer.

Polyethylene Outer Layer: Provides mechanical protection against impact, abrasion, and environmental wear.

The combination of these three layers ensures long-term protection even under extreme environmental conditions, making 3PE the industry standard for buried and exposed pipelines.

Packaging & Transportation

Packaging

Pipes are bundled by size using PET/PP straps, with rubber or wooden spacers to prevent friction.

Plastic end caps are applied to protect bevels and keep pipes clean.

Surfaces are protected with plastic film, woven bags, or waterproof wrapping to prevent moisture and UV exposure.

Use nylon lifting slings only; steel wire ropes must not contact the 3PE coating.

Optional packaging: wooden saddles, steel-frame pallets, or individual wrapping for high-spec projects.

Transportation

Vehicle beds are lined with rubber mats or wooden boards to avoid coating damage.

Pipes are securely fixed with soft straps and separated by blocks to prevent rolling.

Loading/unloading requires multi-point lifting with nylon belts to avoid scratches.

For sea freight, pipes are loaded in 20GP/40GP containers or bulk shipments, with additional moisture protection and optional temporary rust oil on pipe ends.
