1. New Energy Heavy-Duty Transportation
Economical, high-strength duplex stainless steel plates and battery frames have been successfully implemented in new energy heavy-duty trucks, addressing the rust and fatigue failure challenges faced by traditional carbon steel in the high-humidity, highly corrosive coastal environments. Its tensile strength is over 30% higher than that of conventional Q355 steel, and its yield strength is over 25% higher. It also achieves a lightweight design, extending frame life and ensuring battery frame accuracy during battery replacement. Nearly 100 domestic heavy-duty trucks have been operating in Ningde's coastal industrial zone for 18 months without deformation or corrosion. Twelve heavy-duty trucks equipped with this frame have been exported overseas for the first time.
2. Hydrogen Energy Storage and Transportation Equipment
Jiugang's S31603 (JLH) austenitic stainless steel, certified by the National Special Inspection Institute, is specifically designed for use in liquid hydrogen/liquid helium (-269°C) cryogenic pressure vessels. This material maintains excellent ductility, impact toughness, and low susceptibility to hydrogen embrittlement even at extremely low temperatures, filling a gap in specialty steels in Northwest China and promoting the production of domestically produced liquid hydrogen storage tanks.
3. Large-Scale Energy Infrastructure
The Yarlung Zangbo River hydropower project utilizes 06Cr13Ni4Mo low-carbon martensitic stainless steel (each unit requires 300-400 tons), with a total estimated total of 28,000-37,000 tons, to resist high-velocity water impact and cavitation erosion. Economical duplex stainless steel is used in bridge expansion joints and transmission supports to withstand the high-humidity and corrosive environment of the plateau, with a potential market size of tens of billions of yuan.
4. Durable Building and Industrial Structures
Architectural curtain walls (such as the Shanghai Tower), chemical reactors (316L for crystal corrosion resistance), and medical surgical instruments (electrolytically polished 304/316L) rely on stainless steel for its weather resistance, hygiene, and decorative properties. Food processing equipment and appliance linings (430/444 steel) utilize its easy-to-clean properties and resistance to chloride ion corrosion.
